This roleplay takes place separated away from Johto, Hoenn, Kanto, and Sinnoh in a region named Byako. It's about as big and isolated as the United Kingdom. While the other regions and Byako know about each other, Byako does not get many tourists or foreigners coming in. They have a steady population, and Byakkans tend to look down on outsiders. Southern Byako has a rather temperate climate while the North tends to have a more cold climate.

• • HAPPENINGS

Five hundred years ago, Byako was founded by a captain and his Mantine on the high seas. They returned to the Hoenn Region, their homeland, and gathered settlers. With that, people and Pokemon began to pour into the new region. As the region became settled, the number of foreigners began to dwindle, especially as Byakkans gained an identity for themselves.

Twenty years ago, the war broke out among the legendary Pokemon over an unknown quarrel. A "Southern" legendary is said to have defended a human who had insulted a "Northern" legendary, and because of this, fights broke out.

Eighteen years ago, the legendary Pokemon feud spread to the human world. With tensions already high due to social, economic, and other differences, the Byakkans eagerly sought to overthrow their neighbors and began looting amid the destruction.

Two years ago, the Schism was formed as part of Regigigas' and Groudon's wrath, causing the warring humans to split between the Southerners and the Northerners. At the point, the war began to cool, but tensions were still flaring. Northerners were irate at their many defeats and felt as if their legendary allies did not know what they were doing. The Northern legendaries did not give a damn about their human pawns, only lusting for the blood of Southern legendaries and their humans, who sought peace now.

Now, many lynchings still occur in the North if you are found to support the peace talks of the South. Leaders of the region's halves are being killed off like flies, each blaming each other and their ways. The sullen, bitter, and fierce natures of the North contrast with the timid, peaceful, and soft natures of the South. The North’s Pokemon are fierce battle machines, trained to obey at any cost, while the South’s Pokemon are more companions and friends than anything else.
